Atlas says will provide full services for guests of bankrupt Thomas Cook Group

The Atlas tour operator has catered for about 100,000 guests of Thomas Cook so far this year, and it will fulfill its obligations to all guests, the Croatian company stated in a press release after foreign media reported that the Thomas Cook Group had filed for compulsory liquidation due to huge debts.

The Thomas Cook Group has been a partner of the adriatica.net group for over 30 years. During this season, Atlas has, in its capacity as a DMC partner, provided services for over 100,000 guests of Thomas Cook from Great Britain, Belgium, France, Germany and Poland. Currently, there are about 150 of its guests in Croatia, mainly in central Dalmatia, who are about to leave the country. We are closely following the developments and we will provide our services to the full extent, and will not undermine the image of the company or of Croatian tourism, Atlas says in its press release.

The Thomas Cook Group and its associated UK companies filed for compulsory liquidation after failed negotiations on recapitalisation. The collapse of the 178-year-old group has left thousands of guests stuck worldwide. The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has also stepped in to conduct return flights between 23 September and 6 October, either with CAA-operated flights or existing flights with other carriers depending on location, foreign media outlets have reported.

The British group has managed hotels, resorts and airplanes that have catered for 19 million guests annually in 16 countries.
