The most famous U.S. tourist guide, Arthur Frommer's, on Monday published its first guide for Croatia.

On 340 pages, "Frommer's Croatia" presents tourist destinations in Croatia for every season and for everyone's pocket.

Author Karen Torme Olson begins the guide with the southern Adriatic resort of Dubrovnik, presents the Dalmatia and Istria regions, and does not omit continental Croatia -- places to see in the capital of Zagreb and the Zagorje, Slavonia and Podravina regions.

The guide will be an important aide to U.S. tourists and may encourage them to travel to Croatia. Frommer's guides are the most used by American tourists as reliable sources of information for travel in both the United States and abroad.

The Croatian guide's cover features a photo of Dubrovnik and in the book the author also provides maps and her impressions of traveling around Croatia.

The guide's owner initially wanted to put Croatian destinations in a guide for the countries of the western Balkans but realized, after several conversations with the chief of the Croatian National Tourist Board in New York, Nena Komarica, that Croatia is becoming an increasingly important world tourist destination and deserved its own guide.(Hina)
