Arrivals and nights statistics show decrease during first nine months

In the first nine months of 2009, Croatia registered 10.14 million arrivals of tourists, or 2.3 percent less as compared to the January-September period of 2008, the Central Bureau of Statistics has recently reported.

The number of nights fell by 1.1 percent to 54.1 million.

The number of foreign guests decreased by 0.6 percent to 8.82 million in the first nine months of 2009.

They accounted for nearly 49 million bed-nights, 0.1 percent down.

Croatian tourists accounted for 1.32 million arrivals, which was a drop of 12.4 percent. Their bed-nights dropped by 10.1 percent to 5.17 million.

In September alone, there were 1.16 million tourists, or 3.5 percent less than in September 2008. Bed-nights statistics in September showed a decline of 1 percent to 6.07 million. (Hina)
