April 2006: Adriatic Coast Registered 25% More Tourists Over 2005

During the month of April, 413.965 tourists visited the Adriatic coast (plus by 25% over April 2005), and during the first four months the Adriatic coast registered a total of  647.700 guests, increase by 10% over the same period in 2005.

Those are the official figures presented today by the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ).

This year's April tourists realized also 1.36 million night stays, which is a 35% increase as compared to the same month last year.

One must also consider that this year's Easter holidays were in April compared to last year’s Easter holidays in March.

Final numbers show that during the first four months in 2006, the Adriatic coast registered over 2 million night stays, which is a 13% increase as compared to the same period last year.

The April numbers include the visit of 338.968 foreign tourists (plus by 28% over 2005) and 74.997 domestic tourists (plus by 12%).

Foreign guests achieved in that month 1.13 million night stays (plus by 39% over 2005) and domestic guests realized 224 000 night stays (plus by 20% over 2005).

During the first quarter of 2006, the Adriatic coast was visited by 201.692 domestic guests (plus by 12% over 2005) and 446 000 foreign guests (plus by 10% over 2005).

Foreigners realized during that period 1.48 registered night stays (plus by 15% over 2005) and domestic tourists 572.600 night stays (plus by 8% over 2005).

The whole area of Croatia (Adriatic coast & city of Zagreb) registered in April 455.744 guests (plus by 22% over April 2005).

During the first four months, Croatia registered 777.715 guests, which is a 10% increase as compared to the same period last year.
