Croatia will be the most interesting new tourist destination on the American market in 2006, followed by China, according to a survey conducted by the United States Tourist Operators Association (USTOA), a professional organisation that takes over 10 million passengers on holiday every year.

In terms of number of passengers, France and Italy remain the most favourite destinations for Americans, and Rome and Paris the most popular cities. Greece was described as a country with the best price and quality ratio.

According to figures supplied by the New York Office of the Croatian National Tourism Board, nearly 128,000 Americans spent their holidays in Croatia in 2005, or 39 per cent more than the year before. The number of American tourists vacationing in Croatia is expected to increase 10 per cent in 2006. (Hina)
