​Advent in Varaždin gets new attraction - big wheel

The Advent in Varaždin has got a new attraction, a 23-metre high big wheel with 18 passenger gondolas, the only of its kind Croatia, which will provide visitors with a special view of the festively decorated town.

The big wheel installed in Gajeva Street arrived from the Italian factory Lamborghini, and on Friday, the opening day, it was visited by Varaždin Mayor Neven Bosilj and the director of the city's tourist board, Jelena Toth.

"The wheel came from a renowned factory with a tradition of more than a hundred years," said Toth, adding that Varaždin had got a new attraction thanks to its permanent partner at Špancirfest, the Fest company.

The most important thing is that the City of Varaždin and the tourist board got this attraction free of charge, thanks to our partners and their wish that Varaždin be the first and currently the only place in Croatia to have a big wheel, said Toth, underscoring that thanks to the new attraction, the Advent in Varaždin reached an even higher level.

The big wheel will be open daily from noon and at weekends from 10 a.m. to midnight. A ride lasts two to three minutes.
