The Croatian Tourism Ministry in cooperation with the private tourist sector on Wednesday decided to adopt a new set of measures to ensure better results in the tourist season, notably in low-season, in light of the new situation on the tourist markets in northern Africa.

Tourism Minister Damir Bajs announced additional tenders for the introduction of new flights and charter flights for Croatia.

Bajs announced this at a news conference after a working meeting with tourist companies at which new measures were discussed.

The Croatian National Tourism Board is expected to discuss the new measures this week.

Commenting on the latest events in Croatia, Minister Bajs said that the tourist sector approved of peaceful public protests as it is a common practice in other countries, adding that he condemned violent protests involving hooligans in which people are getting hurt. (Hina)
