About 10,000 seasonal workers from Serbia work in Croatia

There are 9,722 Serbian citizens with residence and work permits in Croatia, mostly employed in construction, while seasonal workers are mostly employed in tourism and the hospitality industry, an employment website based in the northern Serbian city of Subotica said.

When it comes to residence and work permits issued for a period of one year, Serbian citizens are mainly hired in construction, transport and communications, the Croatian Interior Ministry told poslovi.infostud.com.

Annual quotas apply to over 100 professions in 16 industries. Annually, 53,600 foreigners can work in Croatia.

"About 23,000 foreigners are currently working in Croatia, which means that nearly one in two is from Serbia," the website said.
