A considerable rise in number of visitors to Croatia in April

A total of 1.1 million guests visited Croatia during April, which was a 16.4% rise compared to April 2018, and their overnight stays increased by 18.4% to nearly three million, the national statistical office (DZS) reported on Tuesday. 

The visits by domestic guests increased 3% and their overnight stays were up by 4.9% whereas the arrivals and overnight stays of foreign visitors climbed by 19.2% and 20.7% respectively.

Broken down by nationality, the Germans were the most numerous guests with 136,000 arrivals and 513,000 overnight stays.

In the first four months of 2019, there were two million visitors, up 11.4%, who made nearly 5 million overnight stays, up 9.4% compared to the corresponding period in 2018.
