23 bids submitted for Brijuni coastland tourism projects

Bids for the realisation of greenfield tourist projects at four locations on the Brijuni coastland in the northern Adriatic have been submitted by 23 companies from Croatia, the US, Spain, Austria, Italy and France, the Brijuni-Rivijera company said in a press release on Monday.

Today was the deadline for submitting bids for projects at Pineta, Hidrobaza, Sv. Katarina island and the Monumenti tip, and Muzile, stretching over 276 hectares on the southwest coastline of the Istrian peninsula.

The bids, which Brijuni-Rivijera invited on August 8, will be assessed within 30 days.

The invitation stated that the company would realise greenfield investment projects via private partners which, according to the build, operate and transfer model, will assume the responsibility for designing the projects, financing, building and operating facilities and the services within those projects.

Brijuni-Rivijera was established by the Croatian government and Istria County in July 2003 with a view to creating conditions for turning the Brijuni riviera into an elite destination. (Hina)
