Revenue from foreign tourists in 2022 amounted to €13.1 billion, which is 44 percent more than in 2021 and 24 percent more than in 2019, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports reported on Friday, citing data from the Croatian National Bank.

Compared to 2021, revenue from foreign tourists in 2022 was €3.9 billion higher and compared to the record year 2019, it was €2.5 billion higher, the Ministry added.

"Croatia achieved record results in revenue from foreign tourists in 2022, of €13.1 billion, and if we were to add to that the estimated revenue from domestic tourists, we would arrive at a total of about €15 billion. These results are a confirmation of our focus on quality and added value," Tourism and Sports Minister Nikolina Brnjac said.

Apart from the increase in the annual level, the minister also underscored a significant increase in revenue in periods outside the summer season in 2022, with an average increase of 19% compared to the same period in 2019.
