​Government increases tourist tax for 2019 by 25%The Croatian government on Thursday decided to introduce, as of 2019, a higher tourist tax in the peek season, raising tourist taxes, paid per person per night, in all accommodation facilities except camping sites by approximately 25%. "Even with the proposed increase, Croatia still has the lowest tourist tax of all its peers," Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli said. Under the government's decision, the tourist tax should go up 25% in all accommodation units except camping sites, from HRK 8 to HRK 10 per person per night.  02.08.2018. | News

Croatia signs rental agreement for pavilion at Dubai EXPO 2020Croatia has selected and signed a rental agreement for a pavilion at the EXPO 2020 fair in Dubai which will be held between 1 October 2020 and 10 April 2021, the Tourism Ministry said in a press release on Monday. The pavilion will be used by Croatian business people for promotional purposes at the fair which expects more than 180 countries, the ministry said. 01.08.2018. | News

ACI marinas gross HRK 10M in profit in H1Croatia's nautical tourism company Adriatic Croatia International Club (ACI) posted a 12% annual increase in revenues in the first half of 2018, which totalled HRK 93.04 million, while expenditures decreased by 1% to HRK 83 million, making the gross profit HRK 9.99 million, as against a loss of HRK 895,000 in H1 2017, according to a financial statement released on Tuesday. 31.07.2018. | News

Dubrovnik voted top Eastern Mediterranean cruising destinationDubrovnik has been voted best cruising destination in the Eastern Mediterranean for the second year in a row by Cruise Critic, the website specialising in cruise travel. "Judging by overnight stays throughout the year, Dubrovnik is the most popular Croatian tourist destination, which generated more than four million tourist nights last year alone. EasyJet proclaims Croatia destination of the yearBritain's Easyjet airline has proclaimed Croatia as destination of the year, confirming this in the July edition of its inflight magazine which for the first time in the company's history is entirely dedicated to just one country - Croatia, the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) said on Monday.
