Croatia needs golf tourism because of its multiplicative effectsGolf tourism is one of the most competitive and profitable forms of tourism worldwide and Croatia definitely needs that type of tourism as it brings about additional values and multiplicative effects for the development of a destination and it also enables the prolongation of the tourist season, according to the conclusions of the 4th conference on golf tourism in the Istrian coastal town of Porec. As many as 173 new golf courses have been built in 26 countries in Europe. Croatia, Dubrovnik, Split record biggest jumps in popularity on TripAdvisorAccording to the global travel portal TripAdvisor, Croatia is among the countries with the highest increases in searches and popularity, by 27% in the first four months of the year, while Dubrovnik and Split were ranked first and second under that criterion, the National Tourist Board (HTZ) said on Monday. Citing just obtained data on the behaviour and visits by TripAdvisor users, HTZ said the popularity and searches for Dubrovnik and Split in the first months of the year jumped 46% and 41% respectively. 03.06.2019. | News

European Tourism Ministers meet in Croatia to Advance Development, Innovation and PartnershipsInnovation, partnerships and managing rising tourist numbers have been top of the agenda at the 64th Meeting of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Regional Commission for Europe, held in Zagreb, Croatia this week (27-30 May). Croatia was unanimously chosen to host the annual meeting of the tourism ministers of UNWTO Member States in Europe. The country is one of the region’s tourism destinations, welcoming 20 million international arrivals in 2018, a 6.7% increase on the previous year.
