Croatia's 2006 tourism revenue exceeds EUR 6 bln

Croatia's tourism revenue has for the first time exceeded EUR 6 billion, totalling EUR 6.3 billion in the record year of 2006, which was an increase of five per cent over 2005, the Croatian Association of Hotel and Restaurant Owners (HUH) said at a meeting on Wednesday.

The number of tourist arrivals exceeded 10,000 for the first time, with holiday makers booking 53 million bed nights. The Director-General of the National Tourism Board, Niko Bulic, said that it could be expected that this year's financial results would be three to five per cent better than last year's.
