Dubrovnik among ‘best value for money’ vacation destinations

The southern Adriatic city of Dubrovnik is ranked 6th in the category of 'best value for money' of 25 destinations in a cost-comparison table compiled by Post Office Travel Money, the Dubrovnik Tourism Board reported on Friday.

The 2012 survey was carried out in cooperation with the Rooster PR agency in 25 cities and twelve typical city break items, including meals and accommodation. According to the survey, Budapest is the best bet for tourists looking to stretch their holiday spending money.

A city break holiday in Budapest costs just L134.76. This compared with Europe’s most-expensive cities – Stockholm (where the items were L420.36) and Copenhagen (L440.45).

A mini-holiday in Dubrovnik costs L168.20. Dubrovnik topped the list of emerging cities Britons would most like to visit, followed by Moscow and Krakow in Poland.

The survey was carried out by leading media in Great Britain and web portals such as the Daily Mail, This is Jersey, Aol.co.uk, Msn.co.uk, Ideal short breaks, Shropshire Star, Press & Journal. (Hina)
