Tourism minister visits renovation site of hotel for couples

Tourism Minister Veljko Ostojic on Tuesday visited the renovation site of the Parentium Hotel in the northern Adriatic resort of Porec, where he met with tourism officials from the Istria region.

Expressing satisfaction with the course of the renovation work, Ostojic said that it was this year's biggest tourist investment in the country, worth 22 million euros.

"The hotel will be intended mostly for couples, which will definitely open a new page in Croatia's hotel history," said Ostojic.

Laguna Porec hotel company CEO Neven Staver said the Parentium Hotel had so far been a three-star hotel with 666 beds, and after its renovation, it would be a four-star hotel with 269 rooms.

The renovation work started in November last year and is expected to be completed by the end of July. (Hina)
