Govt.: Workgroups for Privatization of Hotel Companies

Today the Government formed three workgroups which should propose solutions to the privatization of three hotel companies, the building of the LNG (liquefied natural gas) terminal and the reconstruction of the protected monuments within the area of the Rijeka Port. The adequate privatization solutions for the hotel companies Liburnija, Jadran and Imperijal should be finished by the end of May.

The privatization plan is expected to be set up by a workgroup lead by the Government's vice PM Damir Polančec, representatives of the Ministry of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development and the Ministry of Finance as well as other state and local officials.

The workgroup lead by Branko Vukelić, Minster of Economy, will be in charge of drafting all necessary studies for the construction of the LNG terminal. All studies should be finalized by the end of 2006.

The workgroup headed by the Minister of Culture Božo Biškupić has to be ready within only one month. It is their task to propose how to reconstruct the protected monuments in the Rijeka Port area, regarding the realization of the Rijeka Gateway Project.
