Croatia presents its tourism at New York Travel Adventure Show

The Croatian National Board  of Tourism (HTZ) has presented the country's tourism at the two-day "New York Travel Adventure Show", HTZ announced on Sunday.

Given that Croatia is the only European country with the partner country status at this year's edition of the fair, which ends today, a Croatian tourism delegation, led by HTZ director Kristjan Staničić, is also in New York.

"Croatia's presence at the fair in New York and the general visibility of our country on the US market is multifold important for the entire Croatian tourism sector. It is our most important distant market from which we traditionally generate the largest tourist turnover. Latest  figures show that Americans generated more than 1.6 million overnight stays in our country last year," Staničić pointed out.

"We are very pleased with the excellent response from Croatian as well as American tourist companies, which confirm the growth of our country's popularity among American travel enthusiasts. We have successfully maintained, and I would say even further strengthened our position on this market. I believe in the continuation of the positive and upward trend, and since it is a distant market, we will focus most of our attention and activities on further strengthening of airlines and strategic cooperation with travel agenicies in order to make our country as accessible to Americans as possible," said the director of the HTZ Office in New York, Leila Krešić Jurić.

Croatian Ambassador to the United States Pjer Šimunović and Consul General Nikica Kopačević also visited the fair.
