Polish tourism representatives, reporters visit Kvarner region

About 180 representatives of the Polish tourism sector and Polish tourism reporters are currently staying in Croatia's Kvarner region after arriving on a promotional flight of the Polish flag carrier LOT and attending a reception in Opatija.

A two-day programme has been prepared for the Polish guests as part of a campaign promoting the Kvarner area on the Polish market and to enhance the occupancy of LOT flights to connect the Rijeka and Polish airports this summer until mid-September.

Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikolina Brnjac told Hina that Croatia and Poland have nurtured friendly relations for years and that Poland is an important tourism market for Croatia. So far this year, Polish tourists have generated a 122% increase in bed nights compared to the same period last year and Polish tourists see Croatia as a year-round destination, she said.

Brnjac recalled that the return of about 460 air routes from foreign markets to Croatia has been announced and she thanked LOT for not having significantly reduced its flights to Croatia during the pandemic.

LOT CEO Rafał Milczarski expects even more Polish tourists to arrive in Croatia on LOT flights as well as more Croatian tourists to visit Poland.

This summer LOT planes will fly to Rijeka, Zadar, Split, Dubrovnik and Zagreb.
