Nautical tourism responsible for this year's tourism results, minister says

Nautical tourism is largely responsible for overall tourism results, reaching 49% of its last year's results for bed nights, Tourism and Sport Minister Nikolina Brnjac said at the end of the Nautical Patrol campaign in Skradin on Friday.

This is the fourth edition of the Nautical Patrol, Jutarnji List daily's campaign to evaluate Croatian marinas, and this year it was held under the auspices of the Croatian Tourism Board (HTZ), in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, covering 32 marinas from Umag to Dubrovnik.

At the end of the campaign, a conference on nautical tourism was held in Skradin, where it was said that this year the patrol had also visited dozens of family-run farms near marinas, which Minister Brnjac said was important for connecting tourist products of the "blue and green" Croatia.

It turned out that nautical tourism is resistant to the COVID pandemic and has achieved great results, the minister said.

She said that with 1.3 million bed nights generated in the first eight months of this year, nautical tourism was at 49% of last year's results, adding that the Ministry will continue working on extending the season and on ensuring the resilience of the tourism sector during this time of crisis. (Hina)
