Zadar, Rovinj and Losinj featured among 50 world destinations in tourism book

Zadar, Rovinj and Losinj are among the 50 world's destinations chosen by internationally acclaimed tourism consultant and professor Terry Stevens from Wales, who included them in his new book called "Wish You Were Here", the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) said on Friday.

The HTZ said that this was a new book of "a well-known tourim industry 'veteran'" which in over 200 pages gives an overview of what makes a tourist destination great. The book is a result of 40 years of work in the tourism industry in more than 55 countries, where Stevens had collaborations, gave lectures and more.

Commenting on the fact that three Croatian destinations appear in the book, HTZ director Kristjan Stanicic said that this confirmed Croatia had a good reputation on the international tourism market.

Director of Zadar County's tourist board, Mihaela Kadija, said that they were proud that Zadar was included in the book and that the author mentioned the turbulent history of Zadar, its authenticity and the combination of the old with the new, for example, the Roman ruins and Nikola Basic's sea organ, which attract a lot of tourists.

Director of Mali Losinj tourist board, Dalibor Cvitkovic, said that the author had seen during his visit that Losinj offered a high quality experience together with its long tradition of health tourism, describing Losinj as an eco and modern destination of vitality and health.

Rovinj tourist board director Odette Sapac said the author praised the positive direction in which Rovinj and Istria's tourism was developing, presenting their long history and rich gastronomic and accommodation offer.

Professor Terry Stevens is the founder and MD of the multi-award winning, international, tourism consultancy, Stevens & Associates. Terry is and has been Visiting Professor at a number of universities. (Hina)
