13th century naval pirate battle to be reenacted in Omis

A pirate battle between the Venetians and the historical pirates of the southern Croatian regions of Dubrovnik, Korcula, Klis will be reenacted in the port of the coastal town of Omis on 18 August.

The programme of the 13th edition of the reenactment was presented at a news conference in Split on Thursday.

The event is expected to attract at least 10,000 spectators, including foreign visitors.

About 100 participants will be engaged in the reenacted naval battle, which has become one of the most attractive events during the tourist season in Dalmatia. (Hina/FaH)
