Croatia's first Novotel hotel to open in Zagreb by end of 2020

Croatia's first Novotel hotel is expected to open in Zagreb by the end of 2020 based on an agreement signed by the Zagreb-based Rox company and the Orbis SA hotel group, the exclusive licensor of the Novotel brand for Eastern Europe, Rox said earlier this week. Novotel is a leading global brand of modern hotels and tourist complexes in 59 countries. They are mostly located in city centres, business areas and in-demand tourist destinations. We believe that this hotel will be recognised as the central point for organising business events, as well as an oasis of peace for rest and relaxation, Rox CEO Ivo Kristic said.

Without revealing the location of the future hotel, other than it will be relatively close both to the city centre and the airport, Rox said that the hotel would have 170 rooms, a bar, a restaurant, a wellness centre, and conference rooms.

The Orbis Group said it was pleased with the agreement signed, adding that Croatia had become one of the most attractive countries for investors in the hotel sector.

We are proud that the local partner has decided to cooperate with the Novotel brand and has chosen Orbis as manager in this excellent project. Zagreb is one of the most important business centres in Southeastern Europe, it is a very dynamic and creative city which is visited by guests looking for rest and relaxation, and for business deals as well. We believe they will enjoy in the Novotel, Orbis Group CEO Gilles Clavie said.

The hotel brand Novotel Hotels, Suites & Resorts operates 500 hotels and tourist complexes in 59 countries. It is a member of the AccorHotels Group.

Rox is a Croatian company engaging in the wholesale and distribution of consumer goods in Southeastern Europe, with offices in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Serbia, and Kosovo. It also operates petrol stations and provides restaurant services. (Hina)
