Annex to Kupari tourism project agreement signed

An annex to a HRK 1 billion agreement on the Kupari tourism project was signed on Tuesday by State Assets Minister Goran Maric and the director of the Avenue Ulaganja investment company, Ivan Paladina. The investment company heads a community of bidders together with Avenue Osteuropa from Vienna.

The annex will step up the realisation of the project, with the construction of an even more luxurious resort than planned expected to begin in a little over a year, Paladina said.

During that time, he expects the signing of a management agreement with the Four Seasons hotel chain. Last week he said the chain's letter of intent had already been submitted to the State Assets Ministry.

Today Paladina said the resort would have 200 accommodation units in two buildings.

"The fact that this is an investment worth HRK 1 billion shows the strength of the project, given that Croatia doesn't see such investments every day. But this is just one of such investments in the future when it comes to the activation of state assets," said Minister Maric.

He recalled that the agreement on the project was signed two years ago and that the annex, agreed with the investor, Anevue Ulaganja, was aimed at defining more clearly the terms and conditions the investor, the government and local government need to meet in order to step up the project.

The government endorsed the annex last week.
