European Commission Vice-President Guenter Verheugen presented European Destination of Excellence (EDEN) awards to 20 European tourist towns, including the northern Croatian town of Djurdjevac, at a ceremony in the French city of Bordeaux on Thursday.
Eighteen EU member states and two membership candidate countries took part in the competition. National juries found that Djurdjevac best met the criteria of this year's theme, "Tourism and Local Intangible Heritage". (Hina)
