Croatia to promote its tourism sector in Moscow on TuesdayThe traditional Croatian Tourism Day will be held in Moscow on 18 January, the Croatian National Tourist Board reported on Monday. Croatia ranked 4th most successful tourist destination, according to ITB World Travel Trends Report Croatia was ranked fourth most successful tourist destination in the world in 2010 owing to an expected 7% increase of international tourist arrivals, according to the ITB World Travel Trends Report 2010/2011, made for the world travel trade show ITB in Berlin, scheduled for March 2011. Croatian Tourism Minister Damir Bajs and the president of the association of Croatian travel agencies (UPHA), Boris Zgomba, presented the report to the press at the Tourism Ministry on Monday. Bajs: Croatia's 2011 tourism measures are aligned with EU rules Croatia's measures for tourism promotion in 2011 are aligned with EU competition laws and rules and can be implemented without any problem, Tourism Minister Damir Bajs said on Tuesday. Bajs made the statement at the World Travel Market in London. He was asked by Croatian reporters to comment on Croatian press reports on whether the tourism measures for next year were in line with EU rules. The minister said that in preparing the measures the Tourism Ministry had consulted the Croatian Competition Agency (AZTN). He said that the measures had been recommended by the AZTN and that they were not treated by the agency as state aid. Bajs said that both the AZTN and the European Commission had examined the measures for 2009 and 2010 and found that everything was fine.

Croatia presents its tourist industry at World Travel Market in London This year Croatia has recorded good tourism results from the British market, with a rise in the number of arrivals and overnight stays, and British tour operators have recommended Croatia as the best emerging travel destination close to Britain by giving it a Travel Agent Award. This was said by Croatian tourism officials at a press conference at the opening of one of the world's biggest tourism fairs, World Travel Market (WTM), in London on Monday. The award was received by Croatian Tourism Minister Damir Bajs and Croatian National Tourism Board (HTZ) Director Niko Bulic, who said that next year, just as this, priority would be given to cooperation with tour operators and airlines. Croatian Tourism Minister Bajs to attend World Travel Market in London A delegation of the Croatian Tourism Ministry, led by Minister Damir Bajs, traveled to London on Sunday to attend the World Travel Market (WTM), to be held on November 8-11, the Croatian Tourism Ministry said in a statement. The fair in London will officially mark the beginning of the fair season. Croatia's tourist services will be presented at the Croatian National Tourism Board (HTZ) stand.
